From the beginning, it was never about us falling in love with God-it was always about God loving us first. Through Jesus Christ, God made us His special target of affection. The grace of God gives us what we could never earn.
When we come to Him through the redemptive work of Christ, God sees us through the eyes of grace-charming, attractive, beautiful.
You match the desires of His heart. Suddenly, the Holy Father desires your presence - your company. God is attracted to you. Even before you were born-even before the foundations of the world-He set His love on you. His desire for us has always gone before our desire for Him.
In truth, our love is just a response to revelation. And the depth of our response should reflect the depth of our revelation. As our understanding grows, so should our humility. And from that place, our worship deepens.
